IBF welterweight champion Jan Zaveck (28-1, 16 KOs), the first pro boxing champion in Slovenian history, will defend his world title belt for the first time on April 10th. In a historic fight, “Mr Sympatikus” is stepping into the ring at Tivoli Sports Hall in the Slovenian capital of Ljubljana, against Argentinean Rodolfo Ezequiel Martinez (36-3-1, 13 KOs), the current WBC Mundo Hispano titleholder. Zaveck dethroned reigning champion Isaac Hlatshwayo in South Africa in December. Slovenian TV is televising the clash live from the 7,000-seat arena. The card is promoted by Germany’s SES Sport Events Steinforth GmbH together with its Slovenian partner SPORT CLUB M.
